Zheng Jingxian has been an up-and-coming artist in the circle very early; thus, fake copies of his paintings also emerged in the market very early. He believes the most glorious time of a matured artist should be at his/her 60s to 70s when the artist is vigorous and experienced and has created more high-quality works. Some artists are very famous but their works turn out shoddy. He believes collectors should pay more attention to artwork instead of fame. How to tell a painting is authentic or fake? Artist Zheng Jingxian’s Profile
Zheng Jingxian, was born in 1944 in Hui’an, Fujian. He graduated from Xiamen Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1963 and from national colleges and universities bird-and-flower paitning postgraduate class of Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1979. He is a professor of Xiamen Academy of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University, a member of Chinese Artists Association, Director of Painting and Calligraphy Institute of Chinese Arts and Crafts Society, a member of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Talents Committee of National Ministry of Personnel, a Editorial Board member of Chinese Painting of People’s Art Publishing House, an advisor of Xiamen Artists Association, Director of Xiamen Bird-And-Flower Painting Committee, Vice-President of Fujian Chinese Bird-And-Flower Painting Society, a member of Organization Committee of National Bird-And-Flower Painting Exhibition.
